New rules in subsidies for the pig sector

The new rules for animal welfare subsidies in the pig sector have been amended

(Amendment Decree 39/2018 (XII. 13).

The most important innovation of the amended regulation is that

 

applications for crisis support can be submitted between October 1 and 31, 2024.

Submission of the application on the electronic form-filling interface is mandatory, based on

the information contained in the notice published on the website of the Treasury.

The Treasury will decide on the submitted applications by December 31, 2024 at the latest.

The amendment is the new 18/C. § is added. State subsidies provide a framework that helps

the economy manage the crisis situation and transition in the situation caused by the war in

Ukraine. This new framework can serve as an important tool for the pig sector, as the market

situation is constantly changing and farmers need flexibility to overcome difficulties.

39/2018. (XII. 13.) Additional points of AM decree are also affected. On the basis of Section

14 (1) in the year 2024, the application submitted in the period according to Section 7 (1a)

point b) of the 16/E. is considered an application for crisis support according to §

"Electronic identification" appears as a new concept in the text of the decree, which replaces

the previous "customer gatekeeper identification".

Farmers should prepare in advance for the use of electronic systems, as this will be essential

for applying for future subsidies.

It is worthwhile to constantly monitor the legal environment, because it can help in

successful management.
