Mandatory electronic invoices for businesses from January 1
Mandatory electronic invoices for businesses from January 1
Due to a change in legislation, from January 1, 2025, energy traders and network distribution
companies can only issue energy bills for non-residential users in electronic form, and from
the new year, instead of paper-based bills, MVM can only issue electronic bills to these
customers, the company announced on Monday.
The change affects natural gas and electricity trade and individual and joint ventures with
network usage contracts, other organizations, and individuals who conduct economic
activities with the purpose of earning income with the purchased energy.
The format of the invoice does not change, the electronic invoice is created based on the
invoice image that is currently applicable and meets the legal requirements.
These invoices are only authentic in electronic form, and the concerned customers must
ensure their digital preservation. The invoices can also be printed out for administrative and
accounting purposes.
The MVM continuously publishes information on invoicing information and legal obligations
on its website, as well as providing detailed information to all affected customers in a letter
sent by post or e-mail, they wrote in their announcement.
